Amity College students demonstrated the power of compassion and service as Year 9 representatives from our Prestons campus delivered hamper items collected across all three Amity campuses to the Addi Road Food Pantry at 6:30 am on Thursday morning.
For two hours, our students worked alongside Addi Road volunteers, Australian Martial Arts performers and students from other schools to assemble Hampers of Hope for families facing hardship. This hands-on experience allowed them to contribute essential items while learning the importance of empathy, teamwork and community responsibility.
Students also had the opportunity to meet Greg Foster, creating a memorable moment that highlighted the impact of supporting organisations that uplift those in need.
This initiative became more than an act of giving. It was a meaningful lesson in gratitude, unity and social awareness. Our students returned inspired and proud to have made a difference.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire Amity College community for your generosity. Your kindness enabled our students to transform learning into positive action for others.
Student Reflection: Safiye Unlu (9GD)
"Today was a great opportunity and experience for me to socialise, connect with different communities and reflect on the things I have with gratitude. Packing hampers was really fun, and my favourite part of the day was when we were able to watch the karate performers and the drummers. We danced, laughed together and created strong bonds. It was definitely a wonderful event that I would attend again."
