Prestons Primary

Principal's Message

Welcome to our Amity College Prestons Primary website, and thank you for taking time to learn about our school. Amity College has a long held reputation as a community school, where students, parents and the broader community work together with a dedicated professional team to ensure every child achieves success. With families from diverse ethnicities, racial groups and faiths, Amity College Prestons Primary School is proudly multicultural. Our aim is to nurture a generation of students who are going to be positive role models, and socially responsible Australian Citizens.

While respecting the many traditions established over Amity’s 20 year history, we continue to embrace change, through innovative classroom programs. As part of our ongoing commitment to achieving the highest standards, our school community regularly reviews our progress and future directions. Currently we are pursuing a ‘Differentiated Learning’ programme delivered by our dedicated and professional staff in order to meet students’ individual needs. In addition, we have renewed our classroom laptops and have provided Ipad access to classes to further enhance the quality of the teaching and learning environment. While various electives and extra-curricular activities allow students to develop their individual talents, comprehensive student pastoral care programs and strong ties with parents contribute towards character development and potential fulfilment. We aspire to “Empower all students to succeed in their world.” In order to achieve this, we offer a wide variety of challenging, enjoyable and successful curricular opportunities such as Peer Support, MiniLit, MultiLit, ESL, Enrichment, Elective and After School Programs. Grade 5 and 6 classes have specialist teachers teaching specialist subjects so as to improve students’ academic success and provide a smooth transition into high school. You will find our teaching team available to assist your child provide an excellent education, a lifetime of positive memories and values education at all year levels.
